Unity Re has paid two claims to its foreign partners in December, 2011.
The first, in amount of over 35 000 USD, was paid to «Kazkommertz-Policy», the leading insurance company from Kazakhstan. The claim was received under a facultative construction policy. The large shopping center «Esentai», which was under construction in Almaty, was damaged by the hurricane in June, 2011.
Unity Re actively cooperates with Kazakhstan's insurance companies since 2005, and increases its presence in the market. At the moment, the company has a large book of property and construction business from various economic sectors from this country.
The second claim was paid to Indonesian company Asuransi Jasa Indonesia. It was the second interim payment in amount of 90 000 USD. The loss occurred in September 2009 when an earthquake had damaged telecommunication equipment of one of the largest Indonesian telecom operators. In view of the size and complexity of the loss, it has been paid gradually. Up to date Unity Re has already paid over 200 000 USD on this claim.
Unity Re has been developing its overseas book since 2007, actively working with the insurance and reinsurance companies from Asia, the Middle East and South America. Since that time the company has paid several significant claims to its foreign partners: in particular, more than 150 000 USD for hurricane losses in Mongolia in 2008; 85 000 USD for a fire at a manufacturing plant in UAE in 2009; and 55 000 USD for a fire in a shopping mall in Bandung, Indonesia.
